Eligibility

LEAP

To be eligible for LEAP, an assessment and evaluation must determine that a student has a disability that:

  • Adversely affects educational performance
  • Requires a specialized program or support which cannot be provided through adaptations in general education

Not all students with a disability meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above—there are disabilities that do not impact learning in ways that qualify a student for special education.

Age

Our LEAP program is available to children ages 3-4.

Residency Requirements

LEAP provides services for students who reside in Lawndale.

Verify Eligibility

To verify eligibility and enroll, please call us at (310) 263-6830.

LEAP Peer Partners

Please note that we also accept Peer Partners who are typically developing students who serve as mentors and model behavior for our LEAP students. These students benefit from the same program while developing social cognition and a greater understanding and acceptance of individuals with disabilities.

Age

Our LEAP Peer Partners program is available to children ages 3-4.

Residency Requirements

No residency requirement for LEAP Peer Partners.

If you wish to apply as a Peer Partner, please submit the enrollment interest form.
